That being said, mods can have an incredible impact on how the games look and play, and it's a shame that there aren't any dedicated mod servers on CS:GO. This is under the assumption that CS:GO doesn't have iron sights (I'm pretty sure, correct if wrong). Vanilla CS/1.6 is a much safer space for those in the community that like to mod.

If they don't go for immersion and make it so that iron sights can instantly be available (so you are not hampered by the animation change timing and can be 100% accurate as fast as you can aim) and do not obscure your vision (slightly transparent guns), then what's the point? Just stick with crosshairs instead of ADS so that you can have a 100% pure aiming and recoil control game instead of sacrificing that for some immersion.First started as a mod for Half-Life in the late '90s, Counter-Strikehas gained a level of popularity that is quite unmatched. You could make the recoil with iron sights heavy, but then the gun would obscure your vision of the target to the point where it might not be feasible to track a moving player (this is very different from just being highly difficult). If they want to be as immersive as possible then the iron sights would not be available at all times, you would not be accurate until you had the iron sights up, you wouldn't be able to instantly go from no-iron-sights-up to iron-sights-up, and you wouldn't be able to see through your gun when they are up. I still haven't played more than 100 hours total of CS:GO because of the horrific condition it was released in for instance.Įdit: in response to why iron sights wouldn't work well in CS you have to look at how they would be implemented. For me, I would refuse to play it if it was dumbed down. Most CS players don't want an easier game.
